Every Indian SMB owner running Tally has the same Monday morning: open the outstanding report, see a wall of names, and start ringing from the top. It's the wrong order, and most of the calls didn't need making.
An ageing report is a list of facts with no judgement in it. It can tell you a bill is 60 days old. It cannot tell you that this particular customer has paid you on day 74 for three years and is not a problem, while the one at 61 days normally pays in 39 and has just quietly changed behaviour.
That judgement already exists in your books. It's sitting in the payment history of every invoice you've ever settled. Nobody has time to work it out by hand across two hundred customers, so everyone falls back to chasing by age — which spends goodwill on people who were always going to pay, and leaves the genuinely stuck invoices sitting there for months.
That's the whole idea. There is no machine learning in it and no model to train. It's arithmetic on data you already own, done consistently, every month.
Deterministic, not AI. The same file always produces the same plan. You can argue with the reasoning because the reasoning is written down — every segment tells you why it landed there. A language model would be more impressive to demo and much worse to trust with money.
Tally stays the book of record. This app will never mark an invoice paid. The moment there are two sets of books that disagree, your accountant is right to trust Tally — so we don't create the second set. When a customer says they've already paid, we record the claim and let your next upload settle it.
Honest about what it doesn't know. Behavioural judgement needs three settled invoices per customer. Where that's missing, the page says how much of your book it could actually assess instead of showing a confident number covering half the ledger. DSO shows as "—", not as zero.
Small on purpose. Four dependencies, no framework, no build step. Boring technology is easier to keep correct, and correctness is the entire product.
You should be able to find out whether this is useful without talking to anybody. That's why the health check needs no account — and why it costs ₹499 a month instead of thousands. You aren't funding a sales team.
Every reminder opens in your WhatsApp, from your number, and you press send. Automated dunning from an unknown number is how a supplier relationship gets damaged.
Even the optional connectors can't write to Tally — they only automate getting your export to us. We read what's exported. Changing your accounts isn't something we've chosen not to do — it's something we can't.
Monthly, cancel from your own UPI app, no notice period and no retention call. Delete everything from Settings whenever you like.
Collection Plan is a young, independent product — no outside investors and no sales team, which is exactly why the pricing looks the way it does. It's being built in the open and improved most months.
If something is wrong, missing, or reads a Tally export incorrectly, we want to hear about it — that feedback is worth more to us right now than almost anything else. Tell us.
